The Melal Park in the city of Sari of Iran’s northern Mazandaran Province was left underwater as a result of the flooding of the Tajan River, Mehdi Obouri, mayor of Sari, told Tasnim News Agency, Trend reports.

According to Obouri, work is being done for closing the Tajan Bridge, taking into account the possible risks.

He stated that the infrastructure of the city was seriously damaged as a result of the flood, going on to say that some vehicles outside the park were also left underwater, and that operations are being carried out for their evacuation as well.

The park, located on 35 hectares of land on the outskirts of the Tajan River, was named Melal (Persian for “Nations”) because of the flags of all countries of the world put up there.
