The agricultural enterprises, private entrepreneurs, households have begun the spring field work since January. The necessary agricultural machinery is being provided.
The agricultural production volume in actual prices amounted to 437.9 million manat in Azerbaijan in January-February 2016 or by 2.6 percent more compared to the same period of 2015. According to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee's report, during this period the livestock production increased by 2.6 percent (430.6 million manat), crop production - by 4.5 percent (7.3 million manat).
As of March 1, 2016, some 50,800 hectares were sown, which is 6.4 percent more than in the same period of 2015.
According to the report, some 30,100 tons of perennial plants, 10,400 hectares of potatoes, 7,500 tons of vegetables, 2,600 tons of cereals and legumes, as well as 100 hectares of sugar beet have been planted since the beginning of the season.

During the reporting period some 73,400 tons of meat in live weight, 290,100 tons of milk, 270.9 million pieces of eggs were produced. Meat production increased by 1.5 percent, milk - by 3.8 percent, the production of eggs by 4.7 percent in the country compared to January-February 2015.
The timely livestock and veterinary measures were taken. This had a positive impact on the dynamic development of animal husbandry.
