The fundamental economic reforms implemented in Azerbaijan have become a powerful impetus for the development of the non-oil sector, Executive Director of the Exporters Club Zohrab Gadirov said.
Gadirov made the remarks at the Azerbaijan-Korea business forum in Baku on Oct. 1, Trend reports.
He stressed that Azerbaijan has greatly advanced in the rating and assessment reflected in the reports of international organizations thanks to the conducted reforms.
"So, according to the World Bank's Doing Business international report, Azerbaijan advanced 25 positions in 2019 moving from 57-th to 32-nd position,” Gadirov added. “Azerbaijan is one of the ten countries in the region where large-scale reforms were carried out. Among them are the positive changes in the field of entrepreneurship, which is developing dynamically thanks to the formation of a favorable business environment created in Baku and in the Azerbaijani districts.
“The positive dynamics of development is also observed in the production and processing of agricultural products, in the industrial sector and other spheres,” he said. “The process of registration and business development has been greatly simplified and accelerated thanks to introduction of the Single Window principle, which is used to promote business both domestically and to enter the foreign markets.”
Gadirov stressed that the reforms had a positive impact on the implementation of import and export operations.
"The customs procedures and the tax burden for entrepreneurs have been greatly simplified,” he said. “Today Azerbaijan is of great interest to the regional and the world countries thanks to the thought-out state policy aimed at diversifying the national economy and promoting the Azerbaijani goods to the new foreign markets."
“Being the leading country in the South Caucasus and at the intersection of routes between East and West, Azerbaijan plays the role of a regional transport hub, which is an excellent prerequisite for supplying the Azerbaijani products to the world markets,” he added.
B2B meetings were held between the representatives of the Korean and Azerbaijani companies involved in trade, investments and industrial production within the Azerbaijan-Korea business forum.
