Iran 's Crude oil production in Lavan Oil Region has increased to 98,000 barrels a day indicating 11 percent increase in three years, Shana reported quoting the head of Lavan Oil Region at the National Iranian Offshore Oil Company (NIOOC), Mahmoud Ebrahimi as saying.

According to Ebrahimi Reshadat and Resalat oil fields produce oil with their maximum capacity that is sixteen thousand barrels a day.

The oil produced by the two oil fields is being transferred to Lavan Island in the Persian Gulf for processing through a 98 kilometers 18 inches pipeline, Ebrahimi added.

Lavan blend crude oil is one of the best light crudes produced in the Persian Gulf with too many customers, Ebrahimi said.

Resalat and Reshadat oil platforms in the waters of the Persian Gulf damaged severely during the eight years imposed war against Iran but they were rebuilt immediately after the end of war in 1988 restarting oil production.

Lavan Island is located 18 kilometers south of Iran in the Persian Gulf waters. Lavan Oil Region includes Resalat, Reshadat, Salman, Balal and Alfa oil fields.

Iran is the second largest crude exporter in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries after Saudi Arabia, and it holds the world's second largest gas reserves after Russia.
