Russia will create a united air defence system with Armenia, General Secretary of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) Nikolai Bordyuzha told reporters here on Friday, Itar-Tass reported.

"We assume that a united air defence system will be created with Armenia in the near future," Bordyuzha said.

"We assume that a Russian-Belarussian united air defence system under creation, which ensures security of the air borders of the CSTO states, is only the first stage of creating three regional air defence systems in the Eastern European, Central Asian and Caucasian regions," the CSTO general secretary elaborated. "After that we will reach a higher level when all regional systems will be coordinated, the common rules of information exchange between the air defence systems and everything connected to the creation necessity of a unified system will be worked out," Bordyuzha said.
