On Wednesday, Armenian presidential candidate Andreas Ghukasyan felt weak, 1in.am. reported today.

At the moment doctors are examining him and noted his blood pressure dropped to 80/40 mm Hg. They then urged him to stop his hunger strike, but Ghukasyan did not agree and is to continue. It is unclear whether he will be hospitalised or not.

Coordinator of Ghukasyan's election staff Armen Grigoryan said that later the staff will make a special statement. Andreas Ghukasyan refused to be interviewed.

Andreas Ghukasyan, being a presidential candidate announced a hunger strike in front of the National Academy of Sciences from the first day of the official election campaign and urges candidate of the ruling party Serzh Sargsyan to leave the election campaign.

The sixth Armenian presidential election will be held Feb.18 from 08:00 to 20:00 local time. The head of state is elected for five years.

Those running for the presidency are the incumbent president and ruling Republican Party leader Serzh Sargsyan, former Prime Minister Grant Bagratyan, chairman of the Heritage Party Raffi Hovhannisyan, Paruyr Hayrikyan, Arman Melikyan, Andrias Ghukasyan, Vardan Setrakyan and leader of the National Accord Party Aram Harutyunyan.
