Capital outflow from Armenia exceeded $1.025 billion in 2017, the Armenian media reported Feb. 2.
In January-October 2017, a total of $814.218 million were transferred from Armenia with the help of individuals, while in the same period of 2016 this figure stood at $641.139 million, according to the reports.
As a result of a sharp increase in transfers from Armenia, the positive difference in transfers received from abroad sharply decreased, amounting to only $47.3 million as compared to $60.4 million in 2016, said the reports.
Total volume of transfers amounted to $583.503 million in 10 months of 2017 and this volume stood at $556.54 million in the same period of 2016, say the Armenian media reports.
In total, capital outflow from Armenia amounted to $8.647 billion during the past 10 years of Serzh Sargsyan’s rule.
