Georgian Politician and Russian Political Scientist not Consider Connection of Moscow with Rallies in Georgia

Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia, R.Agayev / The Georgian politician and Russian political scientist deny the statement by Michael Saakashvili Georgian President in pro-Russian interests during the rally in Tbilisi held by opposition. The statement is wrong, Levan Berdzeneshvili, one of the leaders of the Unified opposition, said.

Azar Mursaliyev, the political scientist and deputy editor-in-chief of the Kommersant newspaper, considers although Russia is interested in rallies directed against Saakashvili due to worsen relations between countries Russia cannot hold similar rally in Georgia. Never any country and any special services can hold of many thousands rallies.

Saakashvili connected the rally with the Russian oligarch forces during the interview to the Russian First channel on 4 November. The other channels also demonstrate the President's speech.

'There is a concrete Russian oligarch force which coordinates actions with concrete country and political forces to destabilize the situation before elections in Russia," Saakashvili said. However, Saakashvili did nt detail which forces he meant.

"There are many former political prisoners among Republicans and everybody knows that we always demonstrate against the aggressive policy of Russia towards Georgia," Berdzenishvili said.

According to Berdzenishvili, if Saakashvili do not like opposition it does not mean that the opposition work for Russia. For instance France President also does not satisfied with Georgian President so we work for France.

According to Mursaliyev, the relations between Russia and Georgia worsen for recent years and therefore rallies held in Georgia play into Russian hands.

During the latest visit to the United States Berdzenishvili and his colleges expressed will to join Georgia to the NATO.

The opposition in Georgia has been held rallies demanding to hold parliamentary elections in spring 2008. Participants of rallies demand resignation of Saakashvili.
