Vice-Speaker of Georgian Parliament: I hope there will be no need in approving emergency rules

( Civil ) - Mikheil Machavariani, the Voce-Speaker of Parliament, said on November 8 he hoped situation would calm down and there would be no need in approving president's decree on state of emergency in the country.

"We hope that today and tomorrow there will be calm and tensions will be defused and I hope the parliament will not need [to approve] this measure," he told the Georgian Public Broadcaster.

President Saakashvili imposed emergency rules late on November 7 and the Parliament has to be convened to approve these measures, which are already in force.
