Georgia, Tbilisi, 4 April / Trend corr N. Kirtskhalia/ On 7 April, Georgian attorneys will go on a 3-day strike, the attorneys who gathered for suport to attorney Malkhaz Jangirashvili, who has been hunger-strikering for 26th day, said.
On 7 April, Jangirashvili will suspend the hunger-strike to join the strike of his colleagues. The key demand of the attorneys is independent and equitable court proceedings.
The strike committee was created a week ago and some 50 attorneys have joined it.
The executive council of the Georgian Attorney Association has supported the initiative.
The executive council considers it necessary to take a range of measures to make the authorities ensure real protection of the human rights through independent and equitable court.
