Georgia, Tbilisi, 21 July / corr. Trend N.Kirtzkhalia / Russia should explain to the world the reasons of violating the Georgian territorial integrity and encroachment on sovereignty of the country, Shota Malashkhiya, chairman of temporal parliamentary commission on restoration of the Georgian territorial integrity, told journalists. He was commenting on a meeting of the United Nation (UN) Security Council held on 21 July.

This meeting will focus on the Russian aggression against Georgia, which happened on 8 July, at Georgia's request. The Russian Foreign Ministry admitted that aircrafts of the Air Forces (MAF) violated air space of Georgia in the Georgia-Ossetia conflict region. The Russian Foreign Ministry tried to introduce its intention as an attempt to prevent bloodshed between Georgia and the South Ossetia separatists through this action.

" Russia should explain how it can act as a mediator barefacedly supporting separatists amid similar aggressive actions against one side of the conflict," Malshakhiya stated.

He said that Russia was definitely aggressor for Georgia, as it tried to annex territory of the sovereign country. "Even if unified resolution would not be adopted to condemn Russia because of the right of veto, which it has in the UN Security Council, I hope that Russian actions will be condemned in other countries' statements," Malashkhiya said.
