Georgia, Tbilisi, 12 August / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia/ " Georgia made the first step and signed the EU peace settlement plan. Now it is Russia's turn," Council of Europe (CE) Secretary General Terry Davis, who is currently visiting Tbilisi together with the Chairman of the CE Foreign Affairs Ministerial Committee and the Foreign Minister of Sweden Karl Bildt, said to Georgian journalists on 12 August.
Davis and Bildt arrived in Georgia on 11 August and held a meeting at country's Foreign Ministry. The two are expected to meet with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili today.
'International community is concerned about yesterday's events in Georgia and the developments of recent days," said Davis.
CE Secretary General welcomed the decision of the Georgian authorities to cease the fire. "We highly appreciate the decision," said Davis.
