Georgia Wait for Moscow to Recall Embassy

Georgia, Tbilisi, 1 September / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia /Vacheslav Kovalenko, the Russian Ambassador in Georgia, is expected to be called to the Georgian Foreign Ministry to hand over a note to stop the diplomatic relations between the two countries. This was said by Grigol Vashadze, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister, said to journalists.

"We will precise the exact date for the Russian Embassy to leave Georgia soon. We will give them time to collect their things to leave the country without hurry," Vashadze said.

A lot of Russians and Georgians, who face certain problems with visa, are gathered in front of the Russian Consulate.

At the night of 8 August, large-scale military operations were launched in the self-declared South Ossetia republic. The Georgian troops entered Tskhinvali. Later the Russian troops entered the city and drove the Georgian forces back to the Georgian territory.

On 12 August, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev announced that he has decided to end operations to compel Georgia to peace.
