Georgia, Tbilisi, Dec. 11 /corr. Trend N.Kirtskhalia / The President of Georgia considers holding pre-term elections in the country inadvisable. "If we will hold elections every six months, then consider that we did not take place as a state," the President Mikhail Saakashvili stated this evening at the meeting with the businessmen.

"Holding elections in short periods under the conditions of the economic crisis is a tendency towards suicide, and I think that our people is very reasonable in order to end with themselves," he noted."What are the elections? This is the expenditure of money on the policy. I can certify: it is better to spend money on other projects under the conditions of the economic crisis than to spend on the elections. Look at Ukraine, where my friends Timoshenko and Yushchenko took up arms against each other and wanted immediate elections, but under the conditions of global crisis, they thought over and decided not to spend money on the pre-term elections, but to find way out together," said Saakashvili.

"Someone thinks to hold elections, and must we go to this? I understand those politicians, who could not gain seats in the parliament, but let us ask ourselves: what is better - to hold dialogue with all forces of the government or to spend money on some political forces, which justified themselves in no way," he said.
