Eight Georgian MPs have salary docked

Several members of the Georgian Parliament will lose part of their salaries before the New Year. This is punishment for missing the plenary session of the supreme legislative body, chairman of the Georgian Parliament David Bakradze told journalists.

Several members of the Georgian Parliament will lose part of their salaries before the New Year. This is punishment for missing the plenary session of the supreme legislative body, chairman of the Georgian Parliament David Bakradze told journalists.

Leader of the parliamentary minority Giorgi Targamadze, a former banker, Giorgi Goguadze, majority members Bejan Khurtsidze, Giorgi Kandelaki, Koba Nakopia, Irakli Kavtaradze, Givi Targamadze, as well as minority member Magda Anikashvili, will now be deprived of part of their wages.

Some 10 per cent will be deducted from their pay under existing legislation. However Mr Bakradze, advised them to issue a complaint to the Organisational Department and appeal the decision.
