Vashadze also said that the two sides also discussed issues of bilateral interest. "We noted a good level of economic relations between our countries, as well as their desire to deepen, as our political contacts," the minister said, noting that the meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere.

Georgian television showed the president of Israel and the comment during a meeting with Vashadze. Peres said good economic relations with Georgia, which he says are based on a centuries-old friendship between the Georgian and Israeli peoples. "We appreciate the attitude toward Jews, which is in Georgia and in the future to deepen our relations in all directions," he said.
