Brazil becomes a political partner of Georgia, Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri, who is on an official visit to Brazil, told reporters following a meeting with this country’s Vice-President Michel Temer.

Brazil becomes a political partner of Georgia, Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri, who is on an official visit to Brazil, told reporters following a meeting with this country's Vice-President Michel Temer.

"It is very important to develop a political partnership with Brazil as the country becomes a leader not only in Latin America, but major player in global politics," he said.

Gilauri stressed the importance of Brazil's support to Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as Georgia's position in the UN.

In turn, Temer stressed the importance of Gilauri's visit to Brazil. "Our country is interested in boosting relations with Georgia in the political and economic plane," he said.
