Georgian Energy Ministry has determined a company that will deal with the advisory services relating to the construction project of 'Cascade Namakhvan HPP', the energy ministry of Georgia told Trend on Tuesday.
Advisory services will be rendered by company Studio Ing. G. Pietrangeli Srl.
The consulting company must prepare tender documents, the construction plan, hydro-mechanical, electro-mechanical projects and other technical documentation. The tender for provision of the consultation service was announced in February.
It should be noted that 40 companies have expressed interest in the design, procurement and construction of Namakhvan HPP in Western Georgia.
Cascade Namakhvan HPP is being built on the Rioni River and its total capacity is 450 megawatts. The project aims to construct three hydropower plants at an estimated investment cost of $800 million. Construction should be completed in 2017.
