Gori has refused to give a permit to Georgian billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili's Georgian Dream to hold a rally in the main square.
The head of Gori regional office of the opposition coalition Tamaz Shioshvili told Trend on Thursday after refusal they appealed with a new petition to provide an alternative area in the the township of the complex.
The corresponding statement has already been sent to urban municipality. As for the date of the rally, it will be held, as scheduled, on July 15.
According to an official letter from the municipality of Gori, the square located in front of administrative building is the communication and transportation hub of the city. Accordingly, the
municipality considers it inappropriate to hold a large-scale rally, which will lead to a paralysis of traffic.
The municipality offered the coalition an alternative area - a stadium located on the outskirts of the city. However, the Georgian Dream has decided to hold a rally in the township of the enterprise.
The answer will be given within three days.
