The public broadcaster has started political debates for members of the parliamentary elections. A special statement on the matter was made today by GPB Director General Georgy Chanturia.

The public broadcaster has started political debates for members of the parliamentary elections. A special statement on the matter was made today by GPB Director General Georgy Chanturia.

The United National Movement, Georgian Dream, the Christian Democratic Movement and the Labor Party have the right to take part in the live debate in accordance with the electoral code.

The first debate will be held on September 9. The candidates for prime minister from the mentioned parties are invited to participate in the debates. The first numbers of the party-lists of election subjects will be invited in September 18.

Debate rules are developed by experts of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems.

Chanturia said the broadcaster is ready to introduce the methodology of the debates to the concerned parties tomorrow.

The elections in Georgia will be held in October 1.
