Georgian President thanked all the security agencies that took part in the neutralization of the militant group which penetrated from Russia, at a meeting with the ministers of defense and interior in his estate in Kvareli.

"Our special forces showed high combat readiness and destroyed a well-organized and highly professional group of militants. They were real soldiers. But our people are good as well. God knows, we asked them to give up on good conditions, but they refused and we were forced to take action. They chose their fate themselves, and we do not rejoice in their death, they will be buried with full honors," Mikheil Saakashvili said.

He stressed that all the dead were buried in accordance with their beliefs, and ordered ministers that if the relatives of the killed militants have expressed a desire to visit the graves, all the conditions have been created for this purpose.

The President noted with satisfaction that the Georgian side has all the technical means, as well as warriors who can defend the homeland. However, he expressed his condolences over the dead special forces soldiers and the doctor who was saving the wounded man.

"Two dead special forces soldiers were our great loss, one of them is sniper, and the second sambo world champion. We condole with the bereaved families," the president said.

It should be noted that at a briefing on Thursday, the leader of the opposition coalition Georgian Dream Ivanishvili said that the dead special forces soldiers were supporters of his coalition.
