Poti port workers announce strike

The Poti port workers announced a strike on October 25, new chairman of the trade union of the port Koka Sajaia said today.
He added that around 1,000 workers of the port stopped working from 9:00 a.m. The strike is being held in the area of the port. It will continue till the workers' demands are met.
Sajaia said that the port administration has not met a single demand of the workers, even such an elementary demand as equipping toilets.
He added that no negotiations will be held with the administration because they give no results.
Poti Port workers have established a trade union yesterday. It included 17 people. The trade union demands to increase salaries and improve working conditions.
