Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, David Usupashvili intends to leave the post of chairman of the Republican Party. As Usupashvili said "Maestro" channel, the law does not oblige him to leave the post of chairman, but, according to him, these two positions are really impossible to combine, Georgia-Online reported.

"It is impossible that Speaker could properly lead the party in view of the mode in which he has to work, but it's not going to happen in two or three days. After the elections the Republicans have planned an extraordinary congress. So, I'll prepare this Congress and leave the party position. We stated this when I was elected. Nevertheless, I remain a Republican, leaving the post of the party "- Usupashvili said.

According to him, the Deputy Minister of Education Zurabishvili was secretary of the party and he is also probably not be able to perform this function. As for the state minister for reintegration, as speaker of parliament said, he was a member of the national committee and must remain in this position, because the committee meets every two months and the minister will be able to find the time for it.
