Georgian ambassador to U.S. to be dismissed for political views

Georgia's Ambassador to the U.S. Temur Yakobashvili will be dismissed for political reasons, Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze said on Thursday.

"I have already told Yakobashvili that joint work is not desirable. Yakobashvili fully shares the positions of United National Movement - the party of President Mikheil Saakashvili, who lost the elections to Parliament on October 1," Panjikidze said.

Yakobashvili has served as an Ambassador of Georgia to the United States for two years Previously, he held the position of State Minister for Reintegration.

Previously Permanent Representative of Georgia to the UN Alexander Lomaia resigned, who is considered to be a representative of President Mikheil Saakashvili's inner circle.
