Georgia creates new Code of Police Ethics

A presentation of the draft of the new Code of Police Ethics was held in Tbilisi on Monday.
The Code represents the unity of the ethical and moral principles in the work of the police. It relies on the basic standards and principles of the UN and the Council of Europe, and the European Code of Police Ethics, other international and national legislative acts.
The presentation will be attended by the Georgian Interior Minister, Irakli Garibashvili, senior representatives of other ministries and departments, international organizations and NGOs.
In the near future the Interior Ministry will also provide a short-term strategy to the public in 2013.
