Scandal breaks over Minister of Justice in Georgia
Georgia, Tbilisi, Mar. 1 / Trend, N. Kirtskhalia /
Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University claims that its graduate, the current Minister of Justice Thea Tsulukiani is an expert on international relations. This contradicts the law, according to which only a person with a legal background may hold the office of Minister of Justice.
According to the head of department of educational process of TSU Dali Kandelaki, Tsulukiani graduated from the Faculty of International Relations and International Law in the specialty "international relations."
"By decision of the examination board, she was qualified as a specialist in international relations," she said.
Tea Tsulukiani hasn't yet commented on this issue.
Minority MP Goga Khachidze requires the Ministry of Justice to present evidence of the minister's higher education in law, as it is legally required. Without such diploma, a person may not hold the position of the Minister of Justice.
