Midterm parliamentary elections will show trends in public opinion after the elections of October 1 2012, chairman of the Central Election Commission, Zurab Kharatishvili said.

"A rerun of the elections in three parliamentary seats will not play a crucial role in the balance of political forces, but will be a kind of a test of public opinion after the elections on October 1 2012.

"Therefore, the elections will be important, and electoral competition will take place," Kharatishvili stated at a press conference on Monday, noting that law is fully observed during the electoral preparation procedure and the election commission is ready for holding the elections.

Candidates have not yet registered according to the chairman of the CEC.

Mid-term parliamentary elections in three electoral districts, Nadzaladevi, Samtredia and Bagdati, will be held on April 27, when 16 subjects participating in elections should nominate their candidates on March 28.
