Latvia is interested in the transit potential of Georgia.
Latvian President Andris Berzins made this statement after new Georgian Ambassador Teimuraz Janjalia presented his credentials, First Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia David Zalkaliani told reporters on Tuesday.
"Latvia is interested in it in terms of transit of energy and other important goods from Central Asia to the Baltic countries," Zalkaliani said.
The meeting between Latvian President and Georgian ambassador discussed issues of bilateral Georgian-Latvian relations, including in the context of Georgia's integration into the European Union and NATO, as well as economic cooperation issues.
