The dead bodies of three Georgian soldiers killed in Afghanistan who were given military honours were delivered to motherland.
The bodies of Corporal Alexander Kvitsinadze, Vladimir Shanava and junior sergeant Zviad Davitadze killed in a suicide attack, were delivered to their homeland by a U.S. Air Force military aircraft.
The ceremony held in connection with this at the airport was attended by Defence Minister of Georgia Irakli Alasania and U.S. Ambassador Richard Norland, Command of the Georgian Armed Forces.
The bodies of the soldiers were taken to Kashueti church located on Rustaveli Avenue, where a funeral service will be held at 19:00.
On May 16, a day of mourning was declared in Georgia. National flags were lowered and entertainment events cancelled.
