Several people injured as a result of unrest caused by sexual minority allies

Three supporters of sexual minorities and two police officers were injured as a result of the disruption of a rally held in support of sexual minorities in Georgia on Friday. The incident occurred on Vachnadze street.

The police were rescuing LGBT supporters on a yellow bus when they were attacked by counter-action participants. An emergency team was called to the scene.

Another person was injured on Baratashvili Square. He was hit by a car.

'Identity', a non-governmental organization intended to celebrate the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia on Friday with a peaceful demonstration on Rustaveli Avenue in front of the Parliament.

According to the organization, information campaigns have been conducted in many countries around the world since 2004 to attract public attention to the problems of discrimination against homosexual, bisexual and transgendered people.
