Georgia, Tbilisi, June 20 / Trend, N. Kirtzkhalia /
The government will do everything to save status of Bagrati cathedral, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maia Panjikidze said.
"The situation around Bagrati cathedral is: Bagrati and Gelati together were nominated for the list. Now really there is information that Bagrat added to the list of those sites that are under threat," Panjikidze said.
New government is not guilty that the cathedral was in this list, head of the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
"UNESCO has set the boundaries between Bagrati and Gelati, for that Gelati was not removed from the list" - added Pandzhikidze.
However, she regretted that the issue of withdrawal of Bagrati cathedral from the list already been resolved, and now the efforts of the Georgian side and UNESCO should be directed to the same fate that Gelati has befallen.
"These boundaries should be established and must be made separate documentation Gelati to save his status. If there is a chance to save the Bagrati cathedral, the government will do everything to keep his status" - Panjikidze said.
