FM: Government of Georgia to do everything to save status of Bagrati cathedral

The government will do everything to save status of Bagrati cathedral, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maia Panjikidze said.

"The situation around Bagrati cathedral is: Bagrati and Gelati together were nominated for the list. Now really there is information that Bagrat added to the list of those sites that are under threat," Panjikidze said.

New government is not guilty that the cathedral was in this list, head of the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.

"UNESCO has set the boundaries between Bagrati and Gelati, for that Gelati was not removed from the list" - added Pandzhikidze.
