In order to nominate the presidential candidate, parties and assentors must submit applications to the CEC no later than 50 days before the election.

The CEC registers presidential candidates no later than 30 days before the election, the CEC said on Tuesday.

The presidential candidate has the right to withdraw his candidacy at any time, but no later than 10 days before the election through a written appeal to the CEC.

Recall that President Mikheil Saakashvili has scheduled the presidential election for October 31, 2013.
