The hunger strike in Georgia's Rustavi prison No 17 continues for a second day. The prisoners give the Ministry a concrete term and put up an ultimatum. Two participants of the hunger strike have sewn their mouths shut.
Their main demand is a review of their cases. The prisoners believe that they are being wrongfully incarcerated.
They also demand a meeting with the members of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights.
The position of the Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance on this situation is unknown.
The MPs say that they will meet with the prisoners, but currently they are attending to private matters.
The representatives of the Public Defender have already met with participants of hunger strike.
