Trial of Tbilisi’s mayor continues in Georgia

The trial of Tbilisi's Mayor Giorgi Ugulava and former Defense Minister David Kezerashvili will be resumed on August 30 at 11:00.
The sides have made an opening statement at the last court session. The mayor himself was also allowed to make a speech.
According to Ugulava, the key witnesses of the prosecution are his deputies Sozar Subari, Giga Giorgadze and Niko Khachirashvili.
Tbilisi's mayor is being judged for fraud, which was manifested in the fake registration of United National Movement party activists by the employees of the Tbilisi Cleaning Service and paying them salaries in the amount of five million laris ($1=1.654 lari).
