Georgia's Central Election Commission officially registered 19 presidential candidates by September 20.

According to the Georgian CEC, they are: Giorgi Margvelashvili ("Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia"), David Bakradze ("United National Movement"), Nino Burjanadze ("Democratic Movement - United Georgia"), Shalva Natelashvili (Labour Party of Georgia), Georgi Targamadze (Christian-Democratic Movement) Koba Davitashvili ("Party of the People"), Sergo Dzhavahidze ("For a Fair Georgia"), Zurab Kharatishvili ("European Democrats of Georgia"), Teimuraz Mzhavia ("Christian-Democratic People's Party"), Akaki Asatiani (Union of Georgian traditionalists) as well as representatives of initiative groups - Mikheil Saluashvili, Nestan Kirtadze, George Liluashvili, Levan Chachua, Avtandil Margiani, Nugzar Avaliani, George Chikhladze Teimuraz Bobokhidze and Nino Chanishvili.

On September 17, the Georgian CEC completed the reception of signatures for support of the candidates - no less than 26530 (0.75 per cent of the electors' total number) which are required for registration in presidential elections. The registration process of presidential candidates will be completed on September 27.

In total, 54 people expressed their wishes to participate in the elections. Around 26 people submitted signature lists to the CEC (11 representatives of political parties and 15 representatives of initiative groups). Around 29 people were refused registration.

Presidential elections in Georgian are held for October 27.
