Georgia's Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze received the new Chinese ambassador to the country, Yue Bin. During the meeting, the Foreign Minister and the Chinese ambassador discussed issues of bilateral relations and prospects of future cooperation, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said on Friday.

According to the report, Panjikidze emphasized the significance of future identification of positive tendencies in trade and economic relations between Georgia and China.

In addition, the new Chinese ambassador was briefed on the investment environment in Georgia, as well as recently established investment foundations.

The significance of expanding bilateral political relations including the exchange of high-level visit was emphasized during the meeting.

The Foreign Minister congratulated the ambassador on the beginning of his diplomatic service in Georgia and wished him future success.

In turn, the Chinese ambassador expressed his readiness to develop bilateral relations and confirmed his support of this government to Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
