Swiss Ambassador to Georgia Guenther Baechler has met with newly elected Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili.
Baechler told media on Friday that he had conveyed congratulations from the Swiss government to Margvelashvili.
"We appreciated the holding of the democratic elections in Georgia," Baechler said. "We will have partnership relations with Georgia. We represent Russia in Georgia and want the relations between the two countries to be improved."
Giorgi Margvelashvili has also met with the ambassadors of the Baltic countries and Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister.
