Minister: Georgia intends to closely cooperate with France in defense industry

Tbilisi, Georgia, Nov. 8

By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend: Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Alasania continues holding working meetings within his official visit to France.

The Georgian Defense Ministry said today that Alasania met with representatives of the military- industrial complex.

Alasania was updated with the achievements of leading companies in the military industry. The sides also discussed possible spheres of future cooperation in this field.

"The French military industry is one of the most advanced in the world," Alasania said.

"Proceeding from this, we are very interested in this cooperation and discussion of joint projects. Today we have met with representatives of almost all the military industry and discussed ways of cooperation."

During his official visit Alasania will also meet with his counterpart Jean-Vyes Le Drian. The ministers will discuss the details of bilateral cooperation in the defense sphere. The matter will rest on an international mission in Afghanistan, the summits in Vilnius and NATO.
