Georgian President Georgi Margvelashvili has limited the number of officials with the right to bear arms.

The president cancelled several decrees made by his predecessor, Mikhail Saakashvili.

In accordance with Article 25 on the Law on Normative Acts, according to the presidential decree No.111, the following decrees lose their power:

Georgian President Decree No. 430 dated Sept.3, 2003 on the rules of awarding staff service and civilian weapons;

Decree No. 538 dated Oct.27, 2003 on the approval of the list of officials who are authorised to carry service and staff weapons;

Decree No.750 dated Dec.18, 2006 on the rules and mode of carrying, transport and storage of weapons in use or ownership;

Decree No.570 dated Sep.30, 2011, on the approval of the rules on forwarding patrons and shells of staff service weapons to the Georgian Interior Ministry.
