Georgian MP Nugzar Tsiklauri from Georgia's parliamentary minority was beaten near his home on the night of March 30.
Tsiklauri told journalists on March 31 that persons in three cars were waiting for him and attempted to kidnap him.
"Nevertheless, I managed to resist, and fear of being detained, they left. All the attackers were masked," Tsiklauri said.
The MP was provided with emergency medical care at Gudushauri Clinic.
Tsiklauri gave testimony to the police at daybreak.
No other details of the incident were reported.
