Tbilisi, Georgia, Sept.18
By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:
Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili commented on the consideration of a bill providing the status of main partner of the United States without NATO membership for Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova scheduled for Sept.18 in the Senate.
"Georgia is the first and the strategic partner of the USA, and there is nothing new in it," Irakli Garibashvili told reporters.
The bill defines the Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia as important allies who are not members of NATO, and provides for the allocation of $10 million over three years to fight Russian propaganda aimed at the territories of the former Soviet republics. It also makes the VOA's Russian-language broadcasting for Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia a priority.
