Georgia PM says diaspora’s potential needs to be used for country’s interests

The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said his government is ready to get assistance from Georgian diaspora aboard in the process of nation-building.

Garibashvili made the remarks at the Diaspora Economic Forum, which kicked off Oct. 13 in Tbilisi.

The prime minister said he considers it important to use the Georgian diaspora's potential, for the country's interests, to the maximum extent possible.

He expressed confidence that the economic forum will allow including the diaspora in the processes taking place in the country, and to establish direct contacts with the authorities and businesses.

"The government stands ready to assist our diaspora to the maximum extent, for them to start a business at home. We will take care of creation of all conditions to attract the diaspora's investments in the Georgian economy," Garibashvili said.

The PM expressed hope that Georgians, living abroad, will contribute to Georgia's popularization in the world, and will support the development of the country.
