Georgian troops join mission in Afghanistan

Reinforced company of the IV mechanized brigade of the armed forces of Georgia officially joined the Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan, the Georgian Defense Ministry told Trend Jan.6.
It is reported that the ceremony of joining the mission took place in Mazari Sharif at the German military base Marmal.
The ceremony was attended by representation of the Northern Command.
A reinforced company commander Major Vakhtang Begoidze officially accepted the mission from the commander of the German division of rapid response.
Georgian units are already fully involved in the implementation of tasks envisaged by the mission. The duties of the Georgian soldiers include rapid response and patrols in the controlled area.
This is the first Georgian unit that was involved in the Resolute Support operation.
