Non-tourist trips to Georgia plummet

Non-tourist trips to Georgia decreased 10 times (91 percent) to 113,200 people from January through September 2021, compared to 1.2 million visitors in first 9 months of 2019(before the COVID-19 pandemic), Trend reports via Georgian National Tourism Administration.

Meanwhile, the number of non-tourist visits, in the reporting period of 2021 also declined by 50.4 percent, compared to 228,442 visitors people from January through September 2020.

The number of tourist trips to Georgia decreased by 13.2 percent to 1.1 million people, compared to 1.3 million tourists over first 9 months of 2020.

The same figure of the reporting period of 2021 fell by 80.1 percent, compared to 5.9 million tourists from January through September 2019.

The total number of international visitors to Georgia decreased by 18.5 percent to 1.3 million people over first 9 months of 2021, compared to 1.5 million over the same period of 2020.

According to the statistics, the current indicator dropped by 82 percent, compared to 7.2 million visitors from January through September 2019.
