Georgia’s imports from January through October 2021 amounted to $7.9 billion, which is an increase of 22.3 percent, compared to $6.4 billion over the reporting period of 2020, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).
The share of the top ten trading partners by imports in the total imports of Georgia in the reporting period of 2021 amounted to 67.3 percent, the report said.
TOP-5 Georgia’s trading partners by imports (Jan. through Oct. 2021):
Turkey – $1.4 billion (25.3 percent increase year-on-year);
Russia – $812.1 million (14.3 percent increase year-on-year);
China – $705.2 million (23 percent increase year-on-year);
the US – $492.4 million (4 percent increase year-on-year);
Azerbaijan – $448.7 million (11.8 percent increase year-on-year).
Meanwhile, Georgian foreign trade turnover (excluding undeclared trade) from January through October 2021 amounted to $11.3 billion, which is 23 percent more than over the same period of 2020 – $9.1 billion.
