By Maryana Akhmedova – Trend:
Enterprise Georgia agency will launch a new technical support program for exports within the “Produce in Georgia” state program, Mikheil Khidureli, the director of the program, said, Trend reports via Georgian media.
“We introduce a support component in the non-agricultural portfolio, which includes co-financing for exporting companies in several areas. For example, it will be co-financing the foreign market entering, which is a great help, as it is associated with quite high costs, especially in Europe. The second is packaging and branding, the third and most important is certification and licensing,” Mikheil Khidureli said.
“The new program will provide 90 percent funding in the form of a grant after the beneficiary meets specific criteria,” the director said.
According to Khidureli, the agency also added a 15 percent grant to the already existing “Business Export” co-financing program.
“As a result, the entrepreneur will be able to repay 15 percent of the loan in cash after taking it from the bank, which can be used again by his business. This is a completely new component,” Mikheil Khidureli said.
