Georgia shares data on import, export price indices

The import price index in Georgia in October 2021 increased by 1.4 percent, compared to September 2021, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The same figure also increased by 21.6 percent, compared to the same period of 2020, the report said.

According to Geostat, the import prices for manufactured products in the reporting period of 2021 increased by 20.7 percent, compared to October 2020.

The import prices for products from mining and quarrying in October 2021 increased by 34 percent, compared to the same period of 2020, the report said.

A significant import price increase was recorded for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (47 percent) in the reporting period of 2021.

The import prices for water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation services in October 2021 increased by 1.5 percent, compared to the same period of 2020.

Meanwhile, the export price index in Georgia in October 2021 increased by 4.7 percent, compared to September 2021, and by 17.2 percent, compared to the reporting period of 2020.

According to the report, the increase in October 2021 was recorded in export prices for manufactured products (22.6 percent), and in prices for water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation services (2.9 percent).

At the same time, the export prices for products from mining and quarrying in October 2021 decreased by 20 percent, the report said.
