Georgia’s imports of cement from January through October 2021 amounted to $36 million, which is an increase of 13.9 percent, compared to $31.6 million over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).
The volume of the imported cement to Georgia over first 10 months of 2021 also increased by 14.7 percent, compared to the same period of 2020 – from 614,842 tons to 705,678 tons.
TOP-5 exporters of cement to Georgia (Jan. through Oct. 2021):
Azerbaijan – $24.7 million (518,774 tons);
Turkey – $11.2 million (186,872 tons);
Russia – $21,630 (23,520 tons);
Greece – $5,790 (6,100 tons);
Germany – $2,480 (1,150 tons).
Meanwhile, Georgia’s total imports from January through October 2021 amounted to $7.9 billion, which is an increase of 22.3 percent, compared to $6.4 billion over the reporting period of 2020.
