“A total of 560 million Georgian lari ($181.8 million) was spent from the budget on the “Agrocredit Program” this year,” the PM said.
According to him, the Government's goal is to empower entrepreneurs and farmers to create high-quality, competitive Georgian products.
“Under the Rural Development Agency, up to 14,000 hectares of new perennial gardens have been planted across the country. With the financial support of the state, more than 250 new ones have been created, and more than 1,000 enterprises are functioning,” Garibashvili said.
“The number of employees in rural areas has exceeded 40,000 people in 2021,” the PM noted.
Georgia started a large-scale co-financing project for agricultural mechanization in 2021, which involves the mobilization of agricultural machinery worth 150 million Georgian lari ($48.7 million), the PM said.

“Meanwhile, significant projects have been implemented in the field of environmental protection. The area of protected areas under Georgian government has increased to a record figure of 280,000 hectares. Today, the area of protected lands is 11.5 percent of the entire territory of the country,” Garibashvili said.
