Georgia’s GNERC to invest in water infrastructure in Batumi

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 23

Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC) has agreed on the investment plans of Batumi Water LTD for 2022-2023, Trend reports via Georgian media.

GNERC will invest about 16.2 million Georgian lari ($5.2 million) in the rehabilitation of Batumi's water supply and sewerage infrastructure over the next two years.

Investment projects will improve the continuity of drinking water, the reliability of its delivery, and the quality of wastewater treatment. The company will carry out work to reduce accidents on pipelines and losses of drinking water in the network.

Batumi Water LLC manages a 650 km long drinking water network, 9 sewage pumping stations, pressure structures for drinking water, pressure tanks, and a wastewater treatment plant.
